When results start where you are
The first polls close at 6 p.m. Eastern in parts of Indiana and Kentucky, most East Coast states close at 7 or 8 p.m., and the last close in Alaska at 1 a.m. Eastern. Daylight saving time ends on 1 November, so election night runs on standard time. Outside the Americas most of the night is Wednesday 4 November.

Watching from the UK, Europe or elsewhere
Europe changed its clocks on 25 October and the US on 1 November, so on election night New York is 5 hours behind London and 6 behind Paris and Berlin. The first polls close at 11 p.m. in London; West Coast polls close at 4 a.m. and Alaska's at 6 a.m. UK time, so the big House and Senate calls usually come overnight.
- Free YouTube streams. Broadcasters decide where their streams play, so check the list below: channels marked "Plays worldwide" had no country limits in our latest check.
- BBC. The BBC results programme, live from Washington with Clive Myrie, Sumi Somaskanda and Caitríona Perry, starts at 11:30 p.m. GMT on Tuesday 3 November on BBC One, the BBC News channel, iPlayer (needs a TV licence), YouTube and the BBC News website and app. BBC Radio 4 and the World Service start at 11 p.m. GMT. Sky News also streams free.
- CNN. CNN All Access launched in the UK and Canada on 20 October 2026 at £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year in the UK. It is not sold in the EU yet; there, CNN International is part of many pay-TV packages.
- European news channels. DW News, France 24 and Euronews cover the results in English as part of their regular news.

How can I watch the 2026 midterm election results for free?
Election night is Tuesday 3 November 2026. Free national streams include ABC News Live, NBC News NOW, CBS News 24/7 and LiveNOW from FOX, and PBS streams free at PBS.org. With an antenna you also get your local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS stations, which carry state and county results.
Can I watch CNN or Fox News election coverage for free?
Not live. CNN, Fox News and MS NOW need a paid live-TV service or their own paid apps (CNN All Access, FOX One, MS NOW membership). Some offer free trials.
What time do results start in my time zone?
The first polls close in the evening Eastern time on 3 November, and most results come in between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern. 7 p.m. Eastern is midnight UTC, so in Europe and Asia most of the night happens on the morning of Wednesday 4 November.
Can I watch US election coverage from outside the US?
Often yes. Each broadcaster decides where its YouTube stream plays. In our latest check, 12 of the 12 US channels on this page had no country restrictions. Broadcaster apps and websites are more often limited to the US.
What time are the US midterm results in the UK and Europe?
The first polls close at 11 p.m. GMT (midnight in Paris and Berlin) on Tuesday 3 November. Most major race calls come between about 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. UK time on Wednesday 4 November. The BBC results programme starts at 11:30 p.m. GMT on BBC One, iPlayer and YouTube.
