Watch home TV abroad without a VPN
A lot of live TV doesn't need a VPN at all. Broadcasters stream many channels on YouTube themselves and allow them in every country. Of the 532 channels we track from 22 countries, 404 (76%) played worldwide at our last daily check on 31 Oct 2026. A VPN is still the usual tool for catch-up apps and sport, which are mostly locked to the home country.
I'm the developer of GlobeNow.tv. It is free and is not a VPN: it only plays official streams where the broadcaster allows them.

Questions
Can I watch my home country's TV abroad without a VPN?
Often, yes, for live news. Many broadcasters stream their channels on YouTube and allow them in every country. Of the 532 channels we track in these 22 countries, 404 played worldwide at our last daily check. Catch-up apps such as BBC iPlayer or ITVX are different: they are usually limited to the home country.
Is GlobeNow.tv a VPN?
No. It does not change your location or unblock anything. It only plays official YouTube live streams, and only where the broadcaster allows them. If a channel is blocked in your country, it is blocked on GlobeNow.tv too, and the channel page says so.
When is a VPN still the answer?
For on-demand catch-up services, sport rights and subscription apps that check your location. Check the service's terms first: many streaming services do not allow VPN use, and some block known VPN servers.
How much does a VPN cost?
Big-name VPNs cost roughly $13–15 a month on a monthly plan, or from about $2.50–5 a month if you prepay one or two years (public prices checked on 16 October 2026). GlobeNow.tv is free and needs no account.
How do you know which channels play abroad?
Once a day we ask YouTube which countries each channel's live stream is allowed or blocked in, and show the result on every channel page. Rights change, so a channel can move between groups.

Where each channel plays updates automatically from YouTube once a day. VPN prices are public list prices from ExpressVPN, NordVPN and Surfshark pricing pages and reviews, checked on 16 Oct 2026; they change often. Names are trademarks of their owners; GlobeNow.tv is not affiliated with them.
