Use GlobeNow.tv in ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps

GlobeNow.tv runs a free, public MCP server. Add it to your AI app and ask what is happening in a place, or ask for a live TV channel. In apps that support MCP Apps, a place opens on the GlobeNow 3D globe and a channel starts playing right in the chat in GlobeNow.tv's player, can keep going in picture-in-picture while you chat, and the 3D globe button opens the full GlobeNow.tv globe at that place in a new tab.

I'm the developer of GlobeNow.tv. The server is read-only, needs no sign-in or API key, and returns only public information already on GlobeNow.tv.

Connection address

Transport: Streamable HTTP. Authentication: none. It is also listed in the official MCP Registry as tv.globenow/live-news.

Add it to Claude

Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Name it GlobeNow.tv and paste https://globenow.tv/mcp.
Start a new chat and ask one of the questions below.

Add it to ChatGPT

Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
Create an app, paste https://globenow.tv/mcp and set Authentication to No authentication. If ChatGPT says it can’t discover OAuth settings, that just means Authentication is still set to OAuth.
In a new chat, pick GlobeNow.tv from the tools menu and ask a question.

Menu names change from time to time; look for “connectors” or “apps”.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the same address (for example Cursor, VS Code or the MCP Inspector). Clients without MCP Apps get the same results as JSON with GlobeNow.tv links.

Questions

Is the GlobeNow.tv MCP server free?

Yes. It is free, read-only and needs no account, sign-in or API key. It returns only public information that is already shown on GlobeNow.tv pages.

What happens if I open the MCP address in a browser?

The address is meant for AI apps, which talk to it with POST requests. A browser visit is sent to this page instead, so you can copy the address and see how to add it.

Does it store what I ask?

No. The server only receives the tool inputs your AI app sends (for example a city or a story keyword) and does not keep them. See the privacy policy for details.
