Privacy policy
GlobeNow.tv can be used without an account. We collect as little as we can to run and improve the site. Last updated 2026-10-31.
What we collect
- Usage analytics. On globenow.tv we use PostHog (US cloud) to count page views and clicks such as opening a video or switching modes, and to record anonymised session replays that help us fix layout bugs. Text you type into inputs is masked. Analytics use your browser's session storage, not cookies, and known bots are ignored. We also count visits per page and referrer with our own first-party counter, without storing IP addresses.
- Settings in your browser. Your language, display preferences, how many videos you have opened (to decide when to suggest adding the site to your home screen or bookmarking it) and followed topics are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
- Push notifications (optional). If you turn on notifications, we store the push subscription your browser gives us, your language and the topics you follow, so we can send them. Turning notifications off deletes it.
- Sign-in (optional, site owner only). Signing in is not needed to watch. If you do sign in, we store your name, email and sign-in method.
Videos and widgets
Videos are official YouTube live streams and uploads, played with youtube-nocookie.com. When you play one, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Embedded GlobeNow.tv widgets on other websites, the WordPress plugin and the public API work the same way and do not set cookies.
Public API and GPT
The public API at /api/public/v1, the MCP server at /mcp and the GlobeNow Live Finder GPT receive only the search words you or ChatGPT send (for example a city name). We keep standard server logs for security for a short time and do not link searches to people.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal data, show ads based on you, or ask for an email address to watch.
